The B&C Shutters Hurricane Screen Difference

Hurricane impact rated screen has been out for several years. Until recently, the hurricane screen has been manufactured using polypropylene materials. These have typically met the Florida Building Code requirements for Large Missile Impact protection and have done a pretty good job. Warranties from the various manufactures have normally been a prorated five or ten year warranty, if you read their detail, and photo4the warranty will not cover damage from ultraviolet rays as polypropylene does not do well with prolonged exposure. It has been designed to be used in a manner where it is put up with a storm approaching and taken down once the storm has passed. While these screens can provide shade they really have no solar protection value.
